Formation
For some, our route to ordination is the perfect balance of in-context learning, parish experience and theological rigour to navigate their calling.
St George’s has experience supporting the formation of three Ordinands and overseeing their ordination as Deacons and Priests.
Our ordinands are independent and self-motivated.
Candidates are welcome to apply to us for placement within our Pattaya parish to complete context-based (‘Learning by Doing’) training for ordination as a Deacon and, where appropriate, Priest, in accordance with the principles and traditions of the Anglican Church or those denominations that are in full communion with it.
St. George’s is available for you to consider as a robust provider of in-context learning where you can demonstrate that you are enrolled in or have completed theological education with a reputable provider such as:
(listed alphabetically)
St. George’s has the capacity to support a maximum of two ordinands in any given year.
In rare but not exceptional circumstances, St George’s will consider a candidate an ordinand before they have been enrolled on the understanding that they will, in due course, be enrolled. This means that your role as an Ordinand will last longer.
All potential candidates are asked to consider the ‘Competencies for Ordination‘ before applying to us.
Placements with us are ‘self-funded’, and you must consider this before embarking on this journey.
